So our local xc ski club that we are members of posted a call for volunteers to join the track setting team. I jumped at the chance because we’ve been talking about getting more involved in the local club and this would be a sweet gig.
They need drivers and co-drivers to do the evening track setting, they get a few teams and then you do one or two shifts a week, plus pickup if others can’t make it. There is 60km of trackset trails, not everything gets done every night but it will involve two or three hours of driving/riding along in one of these;
I start in Nov, all we need now is a bunch of snow!!

Cool!
There’s an old Tucker Snow Cat for sale near me, but the condition doesn’t warrant the 16k asking price. And also, I don’t have the money and I have no use for it. But it looks like a hell of a lot of fun.
How’s the learning curve on one of those?

I got to watch one build a terrain park last winter. It was over the course of a day from a ski lift- it was amazing to watch how much snow those things can move. I had no idea they were that capable.

Some buddies of mine have a
snow cat skiing operation
here in Colorado- They’ve got a couple of Pistenbullys.. I was talking to one of them one day about driving the snowcats and how cool they looked- His reply as to how exciting they are: “
I call it, life at 2 miles per hour
